Amazing and patient service – I was initially attracted to Vogue due to their work right across Sydney, and also the quality of their designs, their plans to me were just a much better use of space than some of their competitors. After sending off an email i was linked up with Vishal, a truely lovely guy that exhibits patients, competency, and just great all round knowledge of the building process. I had a bit of a tricky site, in the inner west council area, nightmare council, so I knew it was going to be a process but Vishal was there to guide me each step of the way. Initially looking to build two dwellings, not supported by council, we pivoted to one large dwelling. I was surprised how supportive the team were to allow me to use my own design, and the cost really didn't change that much with my own design. Shout out to Paul the draftsman that intuitively just knew what I wanted also. Over the course of this process I got to understand what drives Vishal and I think he also understands what drives me, was nice to connect on this level also, which I do think helped me really feel at ease with Vogue. I dont think I am the easiest customer and I have high expectations of this build, but I do believe I have found a great team, and I hope to take forward into subsequent projects. Moving into the pre-construction stage now and pretty excited to finalise the facade colours and choices to get the DA lodged and building underway. Thanks Vishal and team.

So far so good! – We have happily signed the tender and entering the pre-construction stage now with this amazing builder. It has been a pleasure dealing with Vishal from day 1. Vogue's 35+ years of building experience, fully custom design option and pretty upgraded Vogue inclusions made us choose Vogue Homes for our second and dream home. As committed, they have been great in helping us with the custom floor plan, clear communication, timely advice and overall process so far. Special credits to Vishal for the friendly discussions throughout, follow-ups, patience in taking the design, inclusions, price etc. back and forth multiple times and really appreciate his work. Girgis has been very professional and supportive too. Looking forward to seeing the construction happening and can't wait to walk into the home we wanted.

Would build again with Vogue Homes – Overall I was very happy with my build and I think I was realistic going into this project and aware that there would be issues that would arise throughout the course of the build, all of which were addressed. Would I build with Vogue Homes again? Yes. Why did we choose Vogue Homes? We chose Vogue Homes because of their size, quality and ability to customise the plans. We didnt want to be a small fish with a large project builder and equally didnt want to build with a small unknown builder that could fold overnight and never be able to claim on their insurance if need be. While there are some shortcomings with a small/medium size builder (town planning / deep knowledge of every Sydney council and their bureaucracies), I think this was outweighed by easily being able to contact someone if I needed to resolve an issue, get an update or just check in. I always felt like my business was valued.
Designing the plans I loved that we had flexibility to work with the draftsperson to create our house. We took the ground floor and top floor of duplex plans they had and then vastly reworked the inertia. My only comment here is that it would have been beneficial to have a planning meeting with the draftsperson and sales to sketch out and ensure the costs aren't getting carried away. Overall we were very happy with the amount of customization we were able to achieve.
Site Managers Our site managers were great and were always contactable or would return my calls within a reasonable timeframe. I have heard so many nightmare stories about site managers leaving and jobs getting put on hold. We had 3 different site managers (one was an interim existing employee), but our build was never impacted. Vogue obviously have good project management systems in place.
Timeframe Our build was completed within 10 months from laying the slab, which was within the contract timeframe of 10-12 months.
We had delays with council approval and Vogue (as the project builder) manage the DA process, so I became involved to sort out some issues. There was some miscommunication from the case officer at the council, so its hard to know how this would have been dealt with by another builder (would depend on their in-house town planning experience, processes etc). At least we had constant contact with Vogue and I was able to deal with the council directly and resolved a storm water issue that was holding it up.
The 2 months we gained during building made up for time lost in the DA process, so it evened out in the end.
Selections When looked through Vogue display homes compared to other known project builders display homes we felt a big difference in quality and style. I loved that when we were designing the kitchen and selecting tiles etc, that this was done through local suppliers who are family run businesses. The kitchen design process was a standout for me and Franco was very knowledgeable. It was also good to meet as his factory and see the process and how they custom build the cabinets. We didn't get a tour, but we had a good sticky beak.
The only think I wished I had upgraded was the paint. The standard is trade matt finish and its very hard to keep clean with 3 young kids. I wish I had paid closer attention and asked if I could upgrade to a wash n wear low sheen paint as well have to repaint soon. For those with young kids, I think the upgrade would be worth it.
Wrap up We've been in our house for 18 months now and will happily recommend Vogue Homes.
